Cutting

Butler Technologies, Inc. has several methods of cutting materials for your company's needs. Whether you require labels, overlays, membrane switches, gaskets, spacers or insulators, we have the right tools for the job.

For larger production quantities, we generally utilize our high speed Thomson Die-Cutting equipment. The tolerance on die cut features range from +/-.010" for materials .020" thick or less to +/-.015" for materials thicker than .020". In general, a cut-to-print tolerance of +/-.010" can be held depending on the material. The Thomson equipment is also capable of cold or hot embossing.

Close tolerance, precision cutting is accomplished at Butler Technologies utilizing either our high-speed digital CO2 laser cutters or plotter/milling equipment. Depending on the material, the digital cutting equipment can produce finished cuts within +/-.002". Each piece of our digital cutting equipment is equipped with the I-Cut optical registration system with the capability of holding very tight cut-to-print tolerances of +/-.005". The digital cutting equipment does not require hard or fixed tooling and is a great help in expediting the prototype process.
